DVD in the mail on it's way back to you.

    Thanks much heavymetals!

The DVD did a bunch of updates took about 15 minutes.

Things all seem to be working good. Now I just need a Tech II to get Comp Mode to work

    Thanks, Perry

I just picked up a 2004 and can't change the state! Making me nuts but sounds like the firmware update should fix that? If so, can I borrow he disc as well? Thanks in advance!

Read Heavymetals post a couple above yours and follow his instructions to get a loaner copy of the fix.

    Thanks, Perry

Thumbs upRe: Navigation system update (firmware)

I got the flash disk loaded and it's back in the mail this morning. Thank you for the great support! It's nice to have the NAV system working properly.

    Re: Navigation system update (firmware)

I just got a warranty replacement radio for my '05 last month. How can I tell if its the newest firmware? When I go to the service menu (2nd from the bottom button and disk right button pressed together) here is what I get:

    VIB Ver: cc0036aa09
    NAV Ver: D4A12023
    MAP Ver: V01.01.00

Is anyone comparing this screen before and after the firmware flash?

I'm going to try borrowing an Infinity DVD from a friend and try it out. I'll post the results.

    Re: Navigation system update (firmware)

    thanks;

hey also... i noticed that if i pop my OLD nav disk in, it says "indiana" for the state, but i can click 'state' and change it back to texas... yet with the other DVD i can't.

does that mean it's the firmware still? if on one nav disk i can change the state whereas on the other one i can't!?

    Yes it is the firmware.

Read the first post in this thread.

    New maps won't work right.

    HeavyMetals,

I just paid to become a supporting member and ordered a Nav disc update. Can I get on the list for the Firmware update? Thanks.

    Re: Navigation system update (firmware)

If you ordered a nav disc from GM you will most probably get the flash cd with your map disc.

Make sure you register your car.
