The issue is we are alloted only 2 messages... With the one welcome message from the moderators & one in the sent box to you, the box is full! I have cleaned mine out (deleted the sent message) you can try to respond again. It would be appreciated. I will pursue "paying" to get more message space. Thanks heavy, I can see how this has become a burden to you.

i am pretty sure that once you gain more posts and participate in the community you will get 10 messages available in your inbox/sent folder

i'm sure signing up as a supporting member will get you access to more but that's what a normal non-subscribing member gets once they pass the 'trial' period

you didn't used to get any PMs available to you in the 'trial' period.... and before you ask the trial period is to weed out spammers who would sign up and send out PM spam to members

    Re: Navigation system update (firmware)

    Hi.

I am new to the Wonderful World of V Ownership but am incredibly excited about my recently acquired '05.

I am however, catching grief with getting a disc for my Navigation unit.

I saw a number of entries from a few years back, indicating that Nissan/Infinity discs would work. Is this still the case and if so, what is the most recent version(s) that I can use on my system?

    Thanks for any available help.

    Re: Navigation system update (firmware)

Here is the instructions on how to make copies of the disc from (http://club.myce.com/):

I made a backup of the DVD in one try. Here is what I did. I read the navigation DVD with DVD decrypter 3.5.4.0. Go to MODE-->ISO-->READ. Select a destination file to save the image and click the DECRYPT button. Then I downloaded ImgBurn 2.3.2.0 and clicked on "Change book type." I have a Samsung DVD burner which is read as TSSTCorp CDDVDW SH-S203B. So I clicked on the Samsung tab and told it to change for DVD+R DL media. I changed it to DVD-ROM. Then I clicked OK. I selected the Navigation image for the source and set the write speed to 1x. I loaded a Verbatim DVD+R DL disc into my DVD burner. They were Verbatim (95310) 2.4X (Up to 6X) Double Layer DVD+R Branded in Cake Box Spindle 20 pack. I clicked the write button and had it verify. I put it into my 2005 Buick Rainier navigation system and it worked. The Buick Rainier has the same touch screen navigation as the Cadillac Escalade.

Hmm, so does that mean version 6.11 would work? Am I correct that 7.0 and up doesn't work?

    Thanks

What is the most current disc for today? I have a Nissan disc for 2012-2013 I believe.

The map discs are not compatible across the platforms.

    Thank GM for that one.
