Got to drive it for about 400 miles and I tell you what I really love this car.
Thats the extent of the good news , Now for the bad news! I let my son take it for a drive & forgot to caution him about the wheel hop problem from a still start & the Dif. problems we have with these.
So I guess by now everyone has figured out that my new V is at the dealership hoping it won't take to long for a new dif.
Does have me really rethinking the maggie I had already decided to install, Since it will take it out of warranty

I probable would have done the same thing, like try a hard hole shot if I didn't know better.
I guess the big thing now is have the dealers been installing the better Diff. or are they replacing it with the same thing? Are there any other things I need to tell the dealer about that they wouldn't normally do anyway? |

All of the sales man want to go for ride and people also test drive them. Every one I test drove, I wheel hopped down the road with! |

As far as the Maggies, are you referring to a cat-back or headers/mid-pipe? I'm not sure what opinions are on this forum, but a cat-back exhaust cannot void your warranty. If a dealer says it does then they don't know what they are talking about and you should contact a field rep. It does not alter any of the existing parts in your car whatsoever. And no, a dealer does not have to 'install' it, they are pulling a line on people with that. A cat back installes with a socket wrench and elbow grease.. nothing to screw up and it does not require a retune. Same goes with a CAI as long as the MAF or whatever air sensor these cars use is not manipulated to raise A/F and increase hp by tricking the computer. That can contribute to a lean condition that would void your warranty if it burned your motor. All the cat back does is remove some of the air restrictions in your stock exhaust, allowing air to move more freely and increase horsepower. The new cat will be higher quality stainless steel and last a lifetime, and will also chamber the air to get a particular sound. That's why they are a great mod. Safe and effective. |

Sorry to hear that... I would have to think it was on its way out begin with.. Maybe there was a prior fluid leak and it was low to begin with.. That would surely heat things up in a hurry.. What was the mileage on it when you purchased it, and have you done a service history on it yet. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
