how does one go about doing the black grille mod?

You can remove the mesh from the from the plastic chrome surround and powdercoat it. I had 3 black options, flat, jet and glossy. I went with jet. I think it has the right gloss without being too shiny.

Sorry the V is so dirty, but this is better than no picture.

In case you are wondering what that thing is in the background of the V, it is a snow plow that hooks onto the front of a locomotive.

Can you be a liitle more specific? Does the front bumper need to be removed? If so can you provide a little help.
