on my hood to nice spots where the paint has started to bubble up, the poop was only on there for 1 day. is the paint process that crappy? this is a warranty issue right? also if they do repaint the hood who pays for the clear bra to be put back on? talk about putting a damper on my exhaust and ucc shifter high...

Re: Bird Poop

bird poop is highly acidic, so it actually could have damaged your paint if it was sitting in the sun baking on. Have you tried a solid wash, clay, and wax?

Re: Bird Poop

A mix of Baking soda and water in a paper cup works fantastic for this. Just dip a soft towel in it and work the area. It neutralizes the acid in the bird droppings.. I've done this a plenty of times, and it comes right off.. The sooner the better though.

Re: Bird Poop

I din't have mine bubble up but had it eaten into by the bird poop and had to polish it to fix it. I have never had this hapen before including on many German, Italian and British sports cars. I would say it is cheap American paint but my Dodge and Chevy trucks don't suffer from the problem either.

I would say it's a severe lack of waxing...

Re: Bird Poop

Let me guess, your V must be black - happened to me as well the acid in the poop w/ the high temp that black hits in the sun will eat into the clearcoat . . . body shop was able to get it 99.9% out by wet sanding the clear down just a drop . . . needs to be done professionally once it has bubbled like that.

Re: Bird Poop

Just my 2 cents.

After having had 5 other black vehicles I always wipe off any bird droppings right away. Sounds like you've learned your lesson? Wipe it off immeadiately! Good luck removing in the mark.
