This year it's Saturday, August 19th, and already we've semi hijacked a couple of threads talking about it, so let's get this out in the open and see if we can get together.
For those who know very little of this event, it's got to be the biggest classic car/hotrod/you-name-it car get together in the world. Two million people come from all over the US and Canada for this thing to cruise Woodward Avenue (a four-lane-each-way, mostly tree-lined boulevard). Great family event, too.
Location? http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp...y=US&geodiff=1
All we need to decide is where on the route to meet. Who's in? |

Sure, I plan to show up, but may need to drive my 1988 Saleen Mustang (if it has not been sold yet). |

Darryl, we might just be able to do that, too. Katech's talkin' about the possibility of a tour, but that may end up on the weekend. Doing Woodward a day or so early is almost as fun as the big day (Saturday). |

Randy, if you can get the wife to give you a free pass for a weekday night I would be happy to tell my wife I will stop by Woodward on my way home from work for a few hours. Maybe we can plan two gatherings at once.
All of us who have attended before know Saturday is great but it's a parking lot and the week leading to it can be better. What do you think, maybe we meet somewhere Wednesday at say 5PM or so?

I'm just suggesting a weekday night for those who can't make it Saturday. I may not be able to make but sure will try. |

The key question is where at the moment. There may be additional meeting dates/times before Saturday during the week (Thursday or Friday?) ... not sure I can get a "pass" from my better half, though.
Used to be a Caddy dealer (Crissman) on the north side of Birmingham, but it's no longer there (Chuck, the owner, passed on). Now, THAT would have been a nice place to hang out!
Anybody got another site in mind? North of Big Beaver would be nice, but the thick of the action is south of there. Ideas/thoughts? |
