| | Cadillac Owners Connoisseur Cadillac(s): CTS-V | | | | Swaybar endlink clunk question I just replaced my stock swaybar endlinks for these, http://www.vbandp.com/detail.aspx?ID=755.
I sized them up to be like stock. However, I'm getting a clunk from what seems to be all four corners. What do I need to do? Should I adjust them to be shorter?
The car is on stock springs, FG2 dampers, and Hotchkis sways. Any help is appreciated. |

I had a similar problem on my right front when I installed my Hotchkis ... sounded like the car was 10 years old! I used a metric Allen wrench and "Voila," it's now smooth and quiet. |

My favorite shop installed my Eibach front bars backward, stressing the end links so that they broke. While waiting for delivery of new end links, I made up some temporaty end links using bar stock and grade 8 bolts. They worked well. By the way the price for the aftermarket end links is less than OEM at GM Parts Direct. |

| | Cadillac Owners Connoisseur Cadillac(s): CTS-V | | | | | Re: Swaybar endlink clunk question I'm sure the bolts and nuts are tight. I did notice one had slightly bent. I'll go and check everything again today. If it's tight, I'm going to adjust them down a bit. Go for a drive and see if it clunks more or less. If I can't make them quiet, I'm going back to stock endlinks. |

They will not last and will become loose, making a clunking noise. Use teflon lined heim joints and the noise will go away. |

Better yet, any chance you can link me to a set of teflon lined heim adjustable joints? |

They are fully adjustable, non-heim, high-articulation units with lube fittings. The only problem... sized for 'vette sways. If we go with these we'll have to drill our sways. Drew owes me an answer on whether they have any comparable to these that do not require drilling. He must've forgotten about me. Call him and bug him. I will, too 'cause it looks like the GC c-overs are imminent. |

| | Cadillac Owners Connoisseur Cadillac(s): CTS-V | | | | | Re: Swaybar endlink clunk question I drilled my sways to fit these adjustable endlinks. I needed a 1/2" opening to fit the new bolts. I've realized with the help of my neighbor, these vpband endlinks are a P.O.S.! The pieces that swivel on these heim joints were really loose. Basically they were worn out. They aren't up to the task. The correct endlinks to use would be the ones recommended by kgoch. They are teflon coated. I ended up putting the stocks back on because I put my stock springs back in. I hope the larger openings don't cause the stock endlinks to clunk too. I didn't have time to test drive the car. I'll do so tomorrow. |
