I can recommend 2 things. Learn proper grammar(I understood your title but not your subject line) and never buy anything from Rocky Mountain Radar. Ever.

Re: rocky mountain radar/jammer any feedback?

There are NO radar/laser jammers for sale that will work. They belong in the same league as intake tornadoes. fuel line magnets for increased mileage, power etc. In case I haven't made myself clear enough, they are ALL worthless junk. Don't waste your money.

Actually this does work:

Plenty of good info can be found here:

There are radar/laser jammers that work, they're just illegal to build and use. However, the stuff from Rocky Mountain Radar is junk. There's an article on www.radartest.com all about it. I tried to link to it but it wouldn't work.

Re: rocky mountain radar/jammer any feedback?

Rocky Mountain Radar was equally as effective as my do-it-yourself jammer. Here's the instructions. Pierce your nipples with a 6 penny nail. Connect the nails with copper wire and then attach to a lantern battery. Also use a coat hanger as a base for a hat made out of tinfoil and place on your shaved head. You must drive with your shirt off for this to be fully effective. Not sure that my jammer actually works but the two times that I was pulled over with the jammer in place, the officers did not write me a ticket once I told him about my experiment. Both times the officers suggested I get help.

Have you actually built one and had it not work?

The reason the Rocky Mountain Jammers don't work is because they are 'passive jammers'. Code for "they don't do anything". As a product sold to the public is needs to comply with FCC rules that it does not interfere (deliberately or otherwise) with other radio devices. The purpose of a jammer is to do just that. It emits radio energy that intereferes with the police radar, and other radar detectors, and home security systems, and door openers and anything else that gets near it. Thus, any 'jammer' sold to the general public either doesn't work or won't be for sale very long. However, I don't know why it's so hard to believe that you can't build one yourself. It's a lot of hassle and is a federal crime, but you can easily find blueprints on the Web.

CVP do you have your own writer. I cant believe you come up with this stuff without help.

FCC... Its is illegal to have a device that 'transmits' . It is however legal to 'monitor' hence scanners, detectors etc.

I have heard that there is a new Laser detector that is really good. It was at SEMA but dont remember the name.

Re: rocky mountain radar/jammer any feedback?

Long story short, I've typed this once and it just disappeared when hit submit?
Anyway in the late 70's I built a jammer for my brothers 930. It worked, very low power as all you have to do is overcome the radars return signal and that is very weak. Cool jammer as you could determine the speed the LEO radar would see by varying the output freq slightly. Your actual speed was irrelevant. Back then there was only X band. Now there are at least 4 seperate bands, I think. This would either require 4 xmitters or maybe you could "Barrage" jam them all. Barrage jamming requires a LOT of power, maybe enough to be unhealthy. With a jammer you have to be very fast on the xmit button. You shouldn't drive around xmitting as you and everyone around you would be blind as your xmitter would set off all of the local radar detectors. I used an Escort radar detector to trigger the jammer. Once triggered the thing went closed loop and would stay on until you turned off the detector. Of course any false signal would set it off as well. kinda annoying actually.
Yes it was illegal even back then. Don't know how hard it would be to build one now.
The most fun I had with the thing is at first I had it mounted in an old Ford pickup. I would drive around with the freq. ramped up (the higher the freq= higher speed on an approaching vehicle) and watch as the LEO's comic alarm would go off and he would start rapidly scanning for that very fast vehicle that didn't exist.

Re: rocky mountain radar/jammer any feedback?

Actually lasers are not governed by the FCC. It's the FDA. There are actually only a few states that have banned laser jammers. The Lidatek is an active jammer that does work. The principle behind jamming a laser gun is actually pretty simple if you know the physics behind how a laser acts like a wave and how to calculate speed from a reflected beam.

check this site out www.activejammers.com. Not saying they work, but at least they seem to make realistic claims, or maybe the con has just gotten more sophisticated
