Can't believe you got to fly a freakin' Apache. What is that like? Sorry to rush this thread but I had to ask. |

After retirement I worked for Army Technical Testing Center at Ft. Rucker and in your neck of the woods, Redstone. Now I work for Thrush Aircraft as a production manager and production test pilot for the AG planes we make. |

I have yet to receive a ticket when the officer shows me a locked speed after being asked too.
They can still get your speed from the gun by overiding the computer or listening to the Doppler and the converted speed. This is how the radar signs can show your speed even with a jammer because they don't use a computer. But it is not a lock-on speed which I usually go see the judge pleading no contest and the points are dropped.
Newbie LEO will give you a "double tap" or zap you again from the rear radar as they pass. So you'll need two facing both directions.

You must drive with your shirt off for this to be fully effective. Not sure that my jammer actually works but the two times that I was pulled over with the jammer in place, the officers did not write me a ticket once I told him about my experiment. Both times the officers suggested I get help. | LMAO...
That about sums it up... |

A guy I know with a GT3, 996 and a 911 Turbo that SWEARS by them, but he also sells them so..... They are tested by a local cop friend for radar and laser effectiveness. http://k40.com/home_main.html
How about the Blinder system? |

RMR was crap. hell, they have been ripping off folks since the early 90s. I remember when all the jammers debuted.
Maui- my buddy had a K40 in his Tahoe back in 95. It was always awesome, other than against instant-on (of course)..had the concealed display. 2 very small lights. wasnt cute- but major stealth...
he later got the valentine1, it was reliable too but a brick.
It took me about 10 years to learn to be prudent when I speed and I have not had a ticket in 8 or more yrs...That meant speeding about 90% less and beefing up the remaining 10%. The best detector is your eyes, because once you spot them you are hosed anyway.. detectors will usually guarantee you a ticket, and they should really. They imply the intent to speed. This is coming from someone with probably 20 tickets.
complete honesty, humility, and a respectful but not ass kissing attitude will get you out of almost every ticket. there are plenty of liars and wackos to ticket.. |

Whomever had my car previously installed a diretly wired system. It has a sensor in the front behind the mesh grille, a receiver up near the mirror that looks more or less stock and tucked up in the black shade of the windshield and has the two little lights installed into the dash with a on off and volume knob underneith. The only thing is that I cannot find the manufacturer to find out any info on it. It is a blast to have, in the city I just leave it off as I don't speed. The highway it is nice for setting the cruise 5-10 over when out in the middle of nowhere. |
