    CTS-V fuel mileage? EPA estimates?

Has anyone come across any highway fuel mileage estimates or maybe even the rated EPA mileage for the CTS-V yet?

I have searched and haven't found any references yet for it...

The Fbodies and Corvettes with the 6 speed are very highway fuel efficient given the power level (I get 27-28mpg in my Z28, Corvettes generally get a bit better) and I am hoping that carries over to the CTS. I drive to L.A. and Orlando almost monthly from St. Louis, and I'd love it if the CTS-V was capable of 450+ miles per fillup... if it only gets like 21mpg on the highway I am going to be VERY disspointed.

My freakin EVO is killing me, tiny gas tank and not so great highway mileage = stopping for gas every 250 miles on highway trips! The EVO is a WONDERFUL urban/suburban commuter - I LOVE THE CAR, but a highway tourer it really is not - and thats what I want the CTS-V to be for me.

It'll cruise the highways, but not at the mpg of the Vette with the same motor. Look at the difference in weight, frontal area, and rear end ratio. You won't be winning any economy runs in the V, but that's not what they are made for....

Re: CTS-V fuel mileage? EPA estimates?

I checked on Edmunds tonight and they list the 3725 pound GTO with an LS1 variant as 17/29 EPA estimated for the 6 speed, 16/21 for the auto... sheesh, what a difference, that slushbox gets horrible mileage - it even gets the gas guzzler tax!!

Edmunds lists the CTS-V as 25 "estimated" highway miles per gallon and a bit over 3800 pounds, so it's only about 100 pounds more than the goat. Sounds pretty fair to me, probably close to accurate in the real world I bet. I bet it could do better in real life on strictly highway cruising, like most big GM V8s with towering overdrive 6ths... 400 miles to a tank. Not too shabby! :coolgleam

I still can't decide between the CTS-V and just getting a Vette. Can't go wrong with either choice I guess! Only a few more months to wait!!

According to www.fueleconomy.gov it is 25/16. The Corvette is rated
    at 28/18. I get 30 mpg at 70mph cruising in 6th on my '00 C5. The next
generation Corvette C6 will be announced at the Jan '04 Detroit
auto show. Discounts are now $5K off MSRP on '04 Vettes. Probably
will be more once the '05 info is let out. Dealers will be trying to sell
as many C5s as they can to up their alotment of C6s they will sell
at MSRP or above for the first year anyway.

Wink Re: CTS-V fuel mileage? EPA estimates?

I have compiled a lot of articles on the V. The mileage ranges between 17/25 to 18/26.

If it can get the 25 on the highway, seat4 and have a trunk I can use , Im happy. I like a 4 dr vette!
