I received a Mallett shortshifter for my bday and just received my UUC, which I had bought last week.

Which one should I have installed?

Re: Mallett or UUC....

The Mallett one does not look stainless...so you say UUC then?

The Mallett one is shorter in length though.

Re: Mallett or UUC....

If you want a noisy handle use the Malett. If you want no noise, use the UUC.
Also the malett isnt a short shifter, its a short handle!

Re: Mallett or UUC....

I have the Mallett shifter...and I modified it. If you have the UUC - then go with the UUC.

It is the better of the two, IMHO.

Re: Mallett or UUC....

Love my UUC, Lasstss bushings and Wienk foam mod - GM needs to copy this setup vertabim for future production runs. No noise, crisp snick, snick shifts.

Re: Mallett or UUC....

The foam mod per Wienk is to cut away the foam where the shift lever contacts it going into reverse. Taking it a step further, I put the foam in around the shifter and shifted through all the gears. Wherever there was contact between the foam and the shift lever, I cut it out with .........omg, a......... BOXCUTTER. Yes, I'm a terrorist.

lastss, I know you posted before who to contact for the better bushings. For my laziness' sake, could you post that here again? And are the dimensions in the FAQ?
