    Lingenfelter CAI Install Question

I just received my CAI today and I am going over the install instructions. For those who already have the unit, are their any hidden problems or other recommendations to consider during installation that are not evident in the instructions?

Ya gotta love this forum for timely advice.

Full Disclosure:This CAI was NOT purchased in lieu of a boob job for my wife, nor does it make my V eligible to be a "pampered Dr.s toy."

Removing the front rubber air snorkel is the worst part of the job. Line up two beers for that. For that part, I removed all the push in plastic rivets holding the front grille assembly on to gain a little room to stick my arm into the front of the car. In the end, you'll probably give up and just rip out the snorkel like everyone else did.

On the MAF, remove the factory rubber air-box adapter/clamp. It's not spelled out very clealy in the directions. Removing this will expose the aluminum end of the MAF (screen side) - this is where steel pipe and hose attach - take your time and be careful not to damage the MAF wires or screen.

Removing the rubber boot was the biggest problem for me as well(need smaller hands).

I disagree totally. With the snorkel in place, it restricts the airflow greatly.

Cut it that's what I did after trying to pry it out for 20 minutes.

Quick question, I got a check engine light on two days ago and it was the intake setting it off. The dealer turned it off and I was just wondering if this happened to anybody else and if there is a cure for it in the future, should it happen again?

Mutlu, suggest double checking your clamps between the throttle body and MAF.

I had to set my K&N filter at a slight angle to get it in their. Did anyone else have to do that?
