    Strange Knocking

This has happened twice now in the past four days and I can't put my finger on it. It happens while doing "stoplight to stoplight" driving. Nothing evil just a usual run through the gears up to 3K each to about 45 mph, stop at light, wait, repeat.
When stopped at a light in idle, trans in neutral and clutch in I get a Knock...knock...knock... One about every second. It comes from the engine/trans area and I can feel it in the shift lever. The first time I got about four or five before it stopped and then this morning I got about six to eight.
    '04, Everything stock, 88K
Oil pressure is good, 35-40 psi.
Motor mounts "should" be good - they were checked two weeks ago by the techs at my local Caddilac dealer BUT I do see a couple of brown streaks on the passenger's side mount. I checked the mounts by engaging the clutch with it in 1st and the parking brake on. I didn't see any engine movement...
Could it still be the mounts?
    Bearings?
    Sumpin else?
    Thanks.

Could still be the mounts. Check under the car by the shifter to see if the shifter or shifter assembly is hitting something. Mine did this and it was a combo of the trans mount and motor mounts being bad.

Hope it is. I've got the Creative Steel engine and trans mounts ready for install. Going in when the Kooks arrive!
    Thanks!
