Talk me into buying an 04 CTS V

Searching for a used car and I stumbled upon this vehicle. I was not looking for this particular car, but I came across this one and fell in love. 04 CTS V 85,000mi mint condition, it has everything and priced around $13k. That seems to be extremely cheap for this car. Tell me why you think the value of this car is so low. And also please tell me the pros/ cons of owning your V. would you buy another?? Im 29, married with no kids plus wife has SUV so this thing has PLENTY of space for what I need.

    Thanks Guys!

Drive it for another 85k miles, have it serviced, then sell it for $8k.

Best $5k you could ever spend.

Sounds like a great deal! I'd jump on it.

If it's all stock, plan on spending around $500 for new motor mounts, transmission mount, and rear differential bushings, if you install them yourself. These cars aren't exactly cheap to maintain, but there's a wealth of information on this site that can save you a lot of time and money if you do your own work.

And if you do buy it, jump on the black Friday sales at revshift and creative steel for the mounts/bushings.

The V1 is a great car, price seems a bit low.

Don't forget this car was meant for the track, as long as that track is a road track, and not the 1/4 mile variety.

If you drive it you will buy it and no one will need to talk you into anything. Maby the price is low cuz the guy needs money like half of the people in the world.

check the title first of all... carfax.....

Is it a dealer sale or private?

    Get aftermarket warranty either way

if it doesnt have the gen 4 differential then wait a couple weeks after you buy it and "let" it break, have warranty replace.

You sir, are now a winner.. and welcome to endless hours trolling through here and the "other" forum..

As long as it drives well with no shakes or vibrations you should be good to go. If they are beat, the road test will show it immediately.

    x2 Carfax.

    Sounds like a reasonable price.

I think some vibrations/buzz are inherently part of owning a V.

13k is an ok price for an '04 with 85,000 miles. I see '04's going for 10-11 with 110,000-140,000 miles. I wouldn't suspect that anything is wrong simply based on price.

Re: Talk me into buying an 04 CTS V

buy it! I just bought one and have been driving with the pace of traffic or a little better, beat on it a little and still averaging 22mpg, mostly highway. I can live with that.

However, it pays to be a gear head if you own one and you can't drive this thing like a 69 camaro with an M-22 muncie.

For everyday driving with the occasional blast, you won't beat it dollar for dollar and you probably won't have many problems with it either. Beat on it and pay!
