Another potential new owner. Help please

Hello, all! I'm in the market for a 1st gen CTS V and have been researching like crazy the past several days. I wonder if I could get advice on a vehicle I'm interested in. Its an 05 low miles (41k) with a supercharger. Carfax looks clean so probably original rear end. Should I avoid a modded one? Its listed @22k how far off is this? Thanks!

    Hey mooktar,

I am the member who posted "New potential CTS V buyer needs some info!" … I just purchased the V I mentioned in my post this past Saturday…… its a completely stock 05 with 50,000 miles. It is in exceptional shape with all maintenance documents since new, two owner, and has never had any warranty work done. I took it for an inspection at my local cadillac dealer and had their V specialist do it…. they let me under the car while up on the hoist and walked through the entire under side of the car with me. The mechanic took a small mirror and checked the part number of the diff just to make sure which generation it was. The part number is located on the right rear side of the diff, just off centre. The cars previous owner who put 35000 miles of the 50000 on the car is an almost 50 year old gentlemen, hence the reason why the car has not had to have the diff, bushings and motor mounts replaced numerous times lol it was a weekend/sunday driver and meticulously maintained. He was asking $19,500, and I paid $17,500. As the V tech said, he has never seen a V1 in such amazing shape. I couldn't be happier!

There is a large group of us on this forum, for example, who have carefully sorted through all of the mods that have been presented to us over the years and have prudently selected only (mostly) those mods that have been proven to enhance the performance and looks of these cars. Some of these cars have gone on to second and third owners and have provided miles and miles of driving pleasure to those owners. They are out there. Mooktar, the '05 you're looking at could well be one of those, but you'll need to post up more info and pics for the rest of us to properly assess and debate it.
