    Speed+windows down=bad

Just to let you all know. Although summer cruising with the windows down is fun. If you're going to do over I'd say about 130 keep at least your back windows up. The wind can be a little violent and actually break the snaps that hold your interior trim on. In particular the trim around the back seat belt

Yeah, we know. It's been a couple of years since someone ripped the A-pillar trim off, though.

My sail panel back there broke too... Yanked the plastic right past the bole and broke the whole damn thing. I'll probably get off my ass and epoxy it back together at some point. But I really don't care a whole lot. I tucked it back into the rubber weather stripping around the window and the door and its holding up decently enough for me to not worry about it much.

Also lost my plastic skid plate on the front. It was attached on the front but dragging on the bottom. I think this happened around the same time because I noticed my hood moving around a lot and when I checked it seemed secure. I attribute it to the increased air coming up by the radiator

My plastic skid plate on the front ripped off when I was going 140 and the noise it made as it came off was epic. It's pretty scary when things break at that speed.

Also, you're going to want to keep your sunroof closed if you're driving over 130...

Wasn't there an issue with people shattering their sunroofs or rippling the sheetmetal behind them when driving over a certain speed? Doesn't matter to me though, I've got the rare and desirable "sunroof delete".

Maybe, I was doing around 130 with it once and the wind caught the roof, causing it to resonate and the entire car to shake. I slammed on the brakes when it happened, but I think if I had kept going it would have warped the metal on the roof...

I'm almost ashamed to admit I've never had this car over probably 90 mph. I should do something about that and ill keep the windows up after reading this.

I am in "the club" with the old z28 and the z06 was in a club up 1 category. I really don't drive the V very hard, probably seen 120, on a closed course of course. Kids and life stuff slow down your top end jaunts it seems.

    193mph on my 05 R1. I was using a GPS speedo that's like 99.9% accurate.

Also did about 190 in a ACR viper but I wasn't driving ...All in Mexico of course
