... and I'm glad I don't have to drive it any longer. :yup:
After driving an '05 STS for the day the V's exceptional qualities left me wanting more, much more. I haven't been a big fan of the Tremecs notchy feel, but I now realize just how much better it is than an auto! I can't believe I'm saying this, but after a year of manual only driving I hated the auto. :yup:
The transmission wasn't the only thing that I missed: the brakes and body control in the V make the STS's driving dynamics feel incompetent. The only impressive STS moment came when I found myself doing 95mph like it was 35.
The STS is excellent on a highway but if you want driving excitement, you need a CTS-V! I will never buy a sports car/sedan with an auto for the foreseeable future (including an STS-V, M5, C55...).
The '05 STS that I drove (it only had few thousand miles on it) was a loaded V8 with 4WD (good for the snow, and I couldn't break the tires loose, no matter what.)
This isn't meant as an STS bash, it just isn't my kind of sedan. One last thing... thank you Cadillac and GM for making a car like the CTS-V!
The CTS-V ROCKS
