Should I Complain ? New Gauge Cluster Installed

Got a new gauge cluster installed due to the left side LCD screen had a strange flaw in it *see my previous post.

Anyways, anyone else notice how the right one seems brighter than the left ? (The background, not the numbers.)

Of course now that I got a new cluster, I'm over analyzing it. Is everyone else's like this ?

What do you guys think ?

It does look brighter... Dumb question, but does the angle of view affect it? Perhaps it's a programming thing?

I think it might be due to the fact that the speedo has many more hash marks than the tach. Mine kinda looks the same.

Never mind. I see what your talking about. I misunderstood

20 percent fade over time from an LED is not unheard of, especially from the power output variety, which these are.

heat causes the phosphors to degrade and lose output, i wouldn't be shocked if that leftmost one failed in the coming months.

Both of mine have always looked like the one on the left. I would be pissed if one was brighter like that and I would definitely take it back.

I noticed the left one comes on slower too. It looks like it fades on, while the right one just turns on.

I'm gonna go see what they say.

    That's how they all are.

Replaced the LEDs in mine - it's the driver that causes the differences.

Re: Should I Complain ? New Gauge Cluster Installed

Ya, I went through an older video I had when I was doing comparisons of the diff wine before / after new diff.

Looks like the old one was the same. Guess that solves that mystery. I was figuring it was a reman cluster and they changed out one of the screens to fix it at one other point in time.

    Thanks for the input guys.
