Got Her Out. Woo Hoo! Except for one little disappointment.

Man it felt good to rip tires bringing her home. Guy in front of me took forever to make his left turn. So I ripped tires and smiled all the way home.

Anyways, what do you guys think about this? It is stored in an unheated garage, but never problems before, and previous winters have been colder.
I have a 3rd party warranty that covers electronics and such with I believe a $200 deductible.
Anyone else ever have this issue.

Anyone know if those screens can be replaced, or does it come as the complete cluster ? Trying to figure if I can do it myself for less than $200

Hey darkman, how about a PDF on how to properly tear apart the cluster ?

    Thanks!

    Awesome.

Any advise how to expose those two screws. Nothing pisses me off more than breaking tabs off plastic parts.

Well that seems easy, glad I asked though. I hate prying and not knowing for sure if I'm forgetting a screw or something.

    thanks again.

about 140 shipped. is the mileage controlled by the computer or is it in the cluster?

Re: Got Her Out. Woo Hoo! Except for one little disappointment.

    From the Service Manual:

    ODOMETER

The instrument panel cluster (IPC) displays the vehicle mileage and trip mileage as determined by the engine control module (ECM). The IPC calculates the vehicle mileage based on the speed pulses from the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) signal and calculating the mileage for odometer displays. The odometer will display Error if an internal IPC memory failure is detected and DTC B1009 is set.

I have two ECMs with different tunes and swapping them does NOT affect the accumulated mileage.
