Smile Purchasing V in States to bring to Canada

I bought a CTS-V last month, at the same time as my brother-n-law bought one. I convinced to change from BMW, not hard to do after driving the CTS-V.Well, my other brother-n-law is visiting here from Toronto, and he loves it too. He also wants to buy one ( I should get a free Corsa exhaust for these sales from GM).
We checked prices in Canada, around 75k Canadian, which is about 60k US. Anyone have any experience bringing a new car over to Canada. We checked, there are no duties. Warranty I am not sure about, our manual says North America, read somewhere else car should have 7500 miles. 10 or 11 thousand would be a huge savings, so if anybody has any info, please share.

I looked into this THOUROUGHLY and know exactly now to do it. (I eventually bought a used one here in Canada which I regret. I should have bought it from Dave of Chesrons. They CERTAINLY are the best place to go to get a used one)

Its not a huge pain but here are some tips to consider before.

It needs to be "used" and in service for 6 months AND have 7500 miles on the clock if you want GM in Canada to respect the warranty. this affectively prohibits new cars as a result.

You need to have your financing in place without having to use the car as collateral. Because it takes a few days / weeks from the time you buy the car to the time it is safely in canada, the banks cannot place a lien so they get all nervous. In fact, it proved to be one of the problems that I came accross about 5 mins after telling Dave I'd take one of his cars. So either get a Home Equity Line Of Credit or something so you can just get the money without haveing to use the car.

    After that its pretty simple.

This website has EVERYTHING you need.

You will save a TON by buying a used one in the states BUT don't forget to consider that CDN cars have 4 years maintainence included - worth about $4,000 CDN they say *shrug*.

Candidly, I regret not buying the car from Dave. After three months of patient research and shopping, I acted spontaneously and it probably cost me $5k - $6k CDN extra as a result.

Whatever, i still love the car.
