I give up on More CAIK

Have taken out and put back in 3 times and I can not for the life of me find the source of the whistle. Stock is back in and whistle is gone. $250 mistake.

    Joshdctsv -

Just curious - does your kit have any sort of weatherstripping where the filter slides through the metal divider/box? Mine did not and the filter ended up being cut over about 6,000 miles...

No weatherstripping either. Sharp metal right on the filter (though mine was not cut at all)

My Lingenfelter CAI does not whistle . My More CAI did. It ended up on Ebay.

I'd recommend the FFV as well. That's what I am currently running (until the Maggie comes, that is )

I'm going to end up end up getting rid of my more perf cai. Since, the bottom rubber part of the K&N is ripping up (krazy glue will fix it) and I'm going to end up selling the CAI.
Can't decide if I should get Stealth's or LPE.

I recommend highly Rick's FFV. No leaks; no whistle; and it's easy to R&R back to stock for those pesky dealer visits every now and then. Those dealer get togethers are happening weekly for me lately!!

I may change out the CAK but only after I decide what I am doing in terms of other mods. I agree the pieces are not as nice as they could be, certainly. I had a problem with one of the rubber gasket pieces tearing due to stress of driving, not sure about the filter I haven't looked to see if that is screwed up too.

same thing hapening on mine - here is a tip...just bought the CAI for my wife's Yukon, they sent it with silicone connector tubes so you dont have that problem.
I have the same issue with my caddy and i think i will get the same silicone tubes to make the connection points.

Another intresting note - the connection between the K&N and the throttle body is a metal tube - i think it was stealth that posted some stats about the metal vs the rubber in between - I that this validates the theory about metal vs rubber.
