So a Marine friend of mine and I went out to drive around the Tail of the Dragon for the first time. The day started out ok on the first pass on US 129, North (TN) -> South (NC), fairly overcast but dry roads. Unfortunately, in our haste, we forgot to record this.
We passed into NC and stopped at the Tree of Shame and had some grub. Within 10 minutes of getting there, it started pouring rain, which brought in about 40-50 bikers. Had a great time watching everyone try to get started in the rain, which finally let off about 40 minutes later.
We mounted my interior camera (really ghetto setup consisting of two wood dowels zip tied between my headrest posts and velcroing an iPhone 4S, I am too cheap for a GoPro...). The video actually came out pretty decent. We got back to the other side of the Dragon (TN) and stopped by a dam to mount the bumper cam (another iPhone 4S that was zip tied to the bottom grill...don't laugh....it worked great...lol).
Made another run, but got stuck behind some bikers for the first 7 or so miles.
Honestly, there wasn't too much traffic, and people were more than willing to move over to let you pass if you were more spirited then themselves .
Shame on you for putting music over the V's exhaust! Nice vids though. Would love to get there on my bike. Oh, and get a GoPro! They're under $200 now for the HD Hero.
Here's the closest thing we have nearby me that I made a video of with my GoPro. Not as good or as long as a road but notice ZERO traffic . that's got to count for something. And zero LEO on these WI backroads.
Yea...I can't get the video to work on my iPhone, but it works on my PC just fine. Apparently, because I added music that is managed by UMG, it blocks my ability to enable the video for mobile devices.

Yea...with the iPhone mounted on the front bumper, all you could hear in the video was wind...no exhaust. As for the interior video, you could hear the exhaust well enough (magna's), but you would also have had to endure a couple of Marines bullshitting back and forth.
So I decided that some good ol Trust Company was more fitting!
Worked good for me! Cool vid man. I have one I need to put up but it won't upload as it is cause Go Pro vid files are HUGE. What do you all use to edit?
I used Microsoft Movie Maker. Free download, took about 30 minutes of fooling around with it to figure out how to what I needed to do. Not a lot of fancy features, but plenty enough to get a good video.
