New to forum, need advice on future purchase.

Hey guys, im new to the forum and was looking for some advice. I just sold my audi S4 and im looking to buy a 05-07 ctsv. I found one for sale by a private owner close to my house. Its a 2005 with 21k miles on it. It looks to be in really good shape, garage kept, and one owner. He said his rock bottom price is $21,000. I know it seems high for a 2005 vehicle, but it seems these are hard to find untouched and in great shape. What do you think about this price? I appreciate all the input I can get being that I might be going to look at it monday. Thanks.

Some might say that's a little high, but I think it's hard to find a car this fun or that nice for that kind of money. If it's in really good shape, I would jump on it. Where are you located? Good luck, and keep us posted!

Jump on it. With only 21k on it, it's barely broken in. Jump on it.

"Some might say that's a little high" Unless it was yours and you were the one selling it,lol. Our dealership had gotten more than 21k for ones with twice the miles. It's a good deal. If you don't jump on it someone else will.

I'm on the opposite boat as the others (not saying they are wrong, just different opinion) I just bought a good condition 04 with 109k miles for 14k. Not perfect but def would be a "good condition" car, some minor shit like rock chips in front, nav buttons and sun roof switch paint is worn but other than that I consider it a good used car for 14k.(comes with aftermarket mounts and new tires) So there is a 7k price difference in our cars plus taxes etc, worth 7k? Who knows

I do agree with the other 20k miles is barely broke in could be awesome or could be bad if shit starts breaking at 40-60k. My point is if it is worth it to you, go for it. Stuff is only worth what you will pay for it. If you haven't driven a V you will love it.

    Curious why 04 is out?

I just got an 04 with 111,00 for 14,000, for the condition and maintenance history it was worth it, most of the 05 around here with 70+ miles were going around 19,000.... Id say for the miles if its been kept up I'd jump on it for that price, just check the service history real good.

Its a good price of its well kept... Low mileage doesn't mean it's in good physical condition. If low mileage is what you're after I'd go for it... Or you can sit out a bit longer for one with higher mileage for several thousand dollars less...

Ditto what Skidmarx says. I bought mine with 20k on it (2005 in July 2011), and the telltale signs of poor care were overlooked. But it wasn't all that bad for me.

I should have had a lamp underneath to check for axle seal leaks in rear end. What condition is the clutch fluid, and if it's black then it has never been changed. Crazy slop in the shifter, I should have noted that on the test ride. Maintenance records will add value, but with none and some signs of neglect you can work the price to your favor. My rad leaked a few drops the first week I had it, small drops on the garage floor - I think the PO dropped a powder fix into the tank. Leaks stopped and then soon, the heater core was clogged and it didn't blow warm air when I needed the heat. Anyway, have it checked out for general condition.

And then jump as rand49er says.

I have had a bit of maintenance invested into mine but it was a good move for me to pick up a low miler. :-). I put on 15,000 kilometers in my first year and smiled like a suno***un for all of them.

    Good luck!

I'd say that sounds like an ideal candidate. Just don't be too surprised if it needs new engine, trans and differential mounts at some point in the near future. They all do, and certainly benefit from going aftermarket.
