    Key fob#2: ultra-noob question

I spent a good deal combing the forum archives, but couldn't find an answer, so forgive me of this has aready been asked/answered.

I have a 2004 V, but only key fob #1. I'd like to order a new one on eBay, but all the #2 fobs they have are used and in terrible shape.

So, the question is: if I order a #1, can I program that to the V such that the V will act as tho it is the second driver preset? I.e. adjust seat and mirrors?
I assume I can do this (and that under the plastic, the #1 and 2 fobs are identical), but since they are different part numbers, I thought I'd check around here.

I'm guessing the reason they have different part numbers is only due to the "2" stamped in the plastic, and that the tech II could designate the new fob as #2.

    Thanks all!

I got both 1 and 2 new with keys from gmparstgiant.com really cheap. I would save your money and get the right part the first time. Rather than spend your hard earned money twice. My .02¢
