    Would I insult someone?

If I offered them $7k cash and $19.5K (so $26.5K ) for their '07 V completely unmolested with only 12k miles? Found one quite a distance from me but definitely worth it in my mind for basically a used brand new car. They are asking $29.5K.

I don't want to low ball.....

    Re: Would I insult someone?

that's a pretty good offer based on the market I've seen. I'd have a real hard time seeing anyone paying much more than $35k new for a car like the V today. I'm shocked people paid $50k+ back in the day. No offense but it's really not that nice.

    Re: Would I insult someone?

    Just as a reference point.

I purchased my '04 V in mid '07 with 18K miles for right under $29K. So that's a 2.5 year old car. The '07 you are looking at is 4+ years old. I think the price you are offering is generous. If it's worth $26.5K for you then go for it, if the seller doesn't take it, go find another.

Another point of view, you can find an older V with more miles, and save almost $10K. That $10K could get allot of maintenance to get it back up to snuff or some major power upgrades. These cars go easily to 100K miles and well beyond.

I think it's a very reasonable offer. I'm like you. I try to offer fair without being too low or insulting.

Nothing wrong with that offer, IMHO. You've got to start somewhere, and you can't go down once you've started the bidding.

    Good luck!

I paid $48k 7-1/2 years ago, and it was worth every dime.

Good to hear. Thanks fellas. I'm really excited to get a V.

Ultimately my goal is to get one with less than 50k miles on it and an '06/'07.

I paid $27k for my 06 V with 25k miles 4 months ago. It had a bunch of mods and the owner was 71 years old, and waxed it weekly, even under the hood. Got the payments i wanted, and the car i wanted. Best money i ever spent!

Figured it would be easier to find the mileage I was looking for and then wouldn't have to worry about the weak diff's in the '04/'05's.

I knew I would confuse you lolly.

I think I know which one you're talking about (Silver Butler, PA), it's been listed on Ebay 4 times over the last month. I'm sure he's had multiple people offer him less, but it's worth a shot.

Mileage true, but weak diffs were found in the 06 and 07 as well. Only the latest diff which I don't believe came stock (someone correct me) on any V. Some folks have the original 04 or 05 diff without any issues.

Name a car that was available in 2004 that offered more for less?
