The CTS-V feels like a brutal beast compared to the BMWs. I'm more of a German car guy, and frankly I've never gotten used to the raw feeling of the Caddy.

Yea it was. There were a few scratches, the lower rear valance was cracked, one of the headlights was cracked, a few other things. I found the one I got and jumped on this bitch. I saw a white one in Fullerton that they wanted like 17 for. It looked like someone side swiped a pole. The paint on the passenger side was not repaired correctly and there were dents in weird places, like the roof (wtf?). I told them you gotta be joking, that think has like $3k in body work to be brought to the condition you are trying to sell it in. They wouldn't budge on price so I laughed and left. I'm pretty happy with my experience with CarMax though. First time I went with them, and I Was a little skeptical. I probably paid more than I should have for the car, but an 04 with 75k miles for $18 seemed good compared to the garbage I had driven before.

And that's why I like it. It feels like you are riding on the back of an ax murderer, ooooorrrrr trying to hold onto your girlfriend after saying the wrong woman's name...

    I love it.

I'm getting so anxious. Im going to look at one in La Quinta tomorrow. Black '05 with 78k. Looks super clean. They are asking 19,500. If I like it I may be in a V as soon as tomorrow! If I do I'll post some pics.

Re: Ready to buy a V

Its been a while since I bought a car. Is this calculator right?

    http://www.carmax.com/enus/tax-title...r/default.html

It says I will have to pay $2750 in taxes & fees if I buy a car for 17000, does that sound right?

taxes are usually around 9% give or take depending on your local tax. I just bought a V for 14k and spent 1200 on taxes, then you got to pay the title/tabs registration fees etc. Your number seems a little high

I found my car. Waiting on paperwork now. It's a 2005 with 78k miles for 18,800. It's also from a really great dealership and it's got a 90 day warranty. I drove it and it feels GREAT! Really excited for the two or three hour drive home through the mountains of southern California!
