    qestion about car keys...

I need to buy a new key. If i buy a blank key can i have any key cutter cut the key for me, or are our keys chipped? Will i have to go to cadillac to have my keys cut and have my key fob reprogrammed, or can program the fob myself?

Any GM dealer can cut the key for you and many parts departments will even do it for free. Programming the key is cake.

I recommend going the dealer. Most service departments will cut the key for you, some at no charge. While there, I would get the fob reprogrammed as well, just to make sure it is done correctly. Good luck.

Anyone can cut the key and you can program it yourself.
As for the fob, you need to bring both to the dealer. They reprogram both. So if you lost one, it wouldn't work on your car anymore.
