Sorry for the crappy quality, this was on my brothers cell phone. This was when we were test driving the car. =)
Only reason I used this video was because it is the only burnout video I have.
Car is completely stock, and at the time of video car had practically new RSA's on.
Anyways... notice there was no wheel hop in the video. I question this because some guys say they were incapable of burning out due to wheel hop "before" they put on the new axles.
Now more recently I've had it out in the rain, and it does hop violently; with mild throttle.
Any comments on any of the above ? My car has never seemed that bad as long as the roads are dry; is this due to crappy tires ???
My brother "works at Discount Tire" is recommending Michellin Piolet Sport Tires. Any comments ?? general consensus is that the RSA's are junk.
The more traction you have, the greater the propensity towards hop. The axles; supposedly the fact the diameters differ from left to right alters the amount of torque it takes to cause the tire to start slipping. This is how I understand it anyway. It has worked for some folks, not so much for others.
I had the pro axles, FG2 shocks, and RSA tires, and I got barely any hop at all on dry asphalt. I wouldn't even call it hop, more like chatter. If the pavement was wet, I got absolutely NO hop at all. On a prepped dragstrip, I still got tremendous wheelhop.
I'll agree with that statement. When I bought my V I had Dunlop Direzzas and I could strike the tires and get little to no hop (unless on a prepped drag strip) now with my Bridgestone Pontza RE11s I get serious hop that will rattle the fillings in your teeth loose. I need to upgrade to G Force sometime soon because my diff is whinnying like my girlfriend when she find out how much I spend on Snap On tools each month
Rain, and probably cold weather will make the car hop easier. This is because the tires are barely breaking loose and trying to get traction.
When you do a clutch dump, you get the tires spinning right away, and they're going so fast that there's less chance for them to hop.
This has been me experience.
Axles will make things better, but you may get some hop in the rain.
