Parking brake needs to be tightened?

I have looked around and havent seen this addressed by anyone. Can someone give me a quick run through on what it will take. Or a link to an existing answer.....

i have to put the pedal all the way to the floor, and still don't trust it to hold. So I end up keeping it in gear to be safe.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Take the rear rotors off and there is an adjustment screw. Release the locking mechanism and turn the screw so it raises the adjuster to spread the shoes.
