I was looking up under my 2006 CTS-V and the plastic piece that looks like it protects the underside of the engine is held on by a number of bolts - maybe 6 or so of them?
I need THOSE bolts, because it appears almost all mine are gone (may just a couple are left), becuase my plastic piece is hanging down part of the way.
It is NOT the rubber spoiler piece, it's the plastic piece further back than that...
Help... I would like to get these ordered so my trim piece doesn't fall off.
Mike in Yukon, OK... with my 2006 CTS-V (25K miles).
If it is the plastic piece that I think you are describing it is held on by plastic two-piece push pins. They are available at many autoparts stores, but you will want to take one with you as there several sizes. (I have a draw full of the wrong size, some which were sold to me by dealers who looked up the wrong part number.)
If you can't fix right away, I would get under the car and pull the rest of the pins and store that plastic piece.
I do not know, I have yet to get the right part. I was just buying some online and from Luke at Lindsay Cadillac to have some extras around. I have not made it down to the auto parts store yet, but others have posted that they found them at Autozone in several sizes.
Hi all!! I got my V just last week; I saw this thread and wanted to offer my .03 cents. I was in Home Depot the other day looking for some bolts. Guess what I found while I was there? They have an entire bolt/screw/nut section devoted to auto-related items. Including a variety of the push pin thingies. If this is what the OP needs, perhaps going to the local home depot (nooooo, I don't work there!) and rummaging through that section might get him what he needs quicker than ordering online and hoping he's got the right part. Hope this helps.
All i know is i needed some of these
Got some at the parts house. Identical part but the plastic is to thick and stiff to work.
Close on the copy but fail.
I will try this place to see if there stuff is correct next time.
