Bigron and I have been PM'ing back and forth on starting this thread here in the V1 section, so rather than let any more time go by, I'll get it going. The above link is the V2 section guys getting this year's meet started.
^ This happened to be the banner that I made but Torxilla brought a VERY cool V logo banner also that can be seen in pics a few replies above. I must extend a truckload of gratitude to Jason, Steve, and Michelle for once again throwing the best social Cadillac owners party that I have seen since my registration to this forum! I'm talking steaks, burgers, dogs, and all the side dishes were awesome. The Cleveland crowd owes you a big thanks. And thanks to all of you great people for your interesting conversation and to all that have taken the many hundreds of pics. This years gathering showed growth and success that will make it the one to see next year for those that couldn't make it this year. Thank you Torxilla! Great to meet you in person GizmoQ! I think I could write a small book about this weekend describing everything from my Michelin parking lot repaving, to our hotel security guard and general manager having a tire cook-off competition, to the heckling fun we had all weekend at a traffic light, to a fantastic finish at Hambos Breakfast Cafe near Mustang Alley Sunday morning to dethrone Bob Evans, etc......... Mark your calendars next year folks, you might wanna see what next year has to offer.
Torxilla's V2 coupe. I got a chance to park this for George. All I can say is, "Wow."
There was always a crowd around Den_93's car. It sounds fabulous, too.
GMBound's car was really clean ... as usual.
Nutz' V2 looks none the worse for wear after doing some impromptu drifting in the rear parking lot the night before. His license plate says it all: 605HP.
Marvin came all the way from St. Louis with his XLR-V. Is it modded? Oh, yeah!
I missed MescalVto's car and PISNUOFF's car and probably a couple more. All in all a decent turnout for V-Series Cadillacs.
This '60s Chevelle with a 572 big block fried a couple of fuses, and despite Nutz' and Den_93's best efforts, we ended up pushing this guy out to the back parking lot where a tow truck had to take him and his two lady friends home.
JD03Cobra did most of the cooking, and everyone lined up for burgers, brats, and a variety of side dishes.
Then, everyone found a chair and sat down to watch the action on Woodward, and there was plenty of it.
Wow guys thanks a ton!!! It's truely an honor to host this event for everyone. While the Dream Cruise is a great time, hanging out with a bunch of proud Cadillac V owners and their family members really makes this event special for me.
Jim, Gus, Jayson, Chuck and the rest of the Cleveland group never disappoint!!! What a great group of guys. I just can't say enough about them...They roll with big Detroit power and everyone is proud of it! A fantastic show in the parking lot with Jim's drifting skills and handful of burnouts...I'll be smiling all the way into work monday morning. A big thanks to these guys and of course Jim for the banner and cool signs!!!
George - (Torxilla) Thanks again for the cool banners, V pictures & Cadillac key chains for everyone! Plus the food...Please tell your wife she did an amazing job on those cookies!!!
Randy - Taking your V for a ride probably wasn't the best thing for my check book...LS9 clutch with a maggie was awesome!
Of course Twitch coming all the way from New York, GizmoQ from St. Louis and PISNUOFF from Ohio it was a great meeting you guys!!
Last but not least our local Detroit area V group...Randy, Big Ron, Den_93, ronr, GMBound, etc...thanks for coming out and bringing friends/family. It's always a pleasure.
This is the 3rd year doing this and it gets bigger and better every year! Plan on coming next year!
Thank you Jason for hosting this bash and to you and Steve for grilling all the grub. Now that I see we also had access to power, Gloria says she'll make her special (crock pot) "Montgomery Inn" baked beans next year. Maybe a few racks of "Baby Backs" (In-mah-belly)as well.
I'd also like to thank John Kraemer (V Series Racing Manager) for the freebies and the big "V" banner.
I met a few of the guys, but like Randy (BTW, Thanks for the Valet Parking, greatly appreciated) said we need a list of all the guys with names, screen names, car specs, email etc to help get the word out about more events or just meet and greets etc.
John Kraemer the V racing manager said he'd like to get a grass roots thing going for ALL V cars to take advantage of Cadillac's clinics/events and hospitality etc.
If anyone is interested, I'll start a simple spreadsheet and share it with whoever gives me their info. Shoot me an email at ggray@stakindustries.com
Home sweet Home. Big ups to Jason for hosting the event. I had a great time! I'm sure no one was disappointed. This was and outstanding event. Can't wait to tell the Indy V guys what a great time they missed (and they're really going to have to step up their game if they want to compete with the hospitality, camaraderie, and sheer fun of this gathering. Great meeting everyone and looking forward to next year.
I was going to come, but anything past 65 mph with just my header and straight pipes right now is fn obnoxious for that long of a drive. Glad I didn't attempt it.......axle seals are leaking
I came up to Auburn Hills to hang with my Impala SS buddies for a national event and was stoked to hear you's guys were hangin' on Woodward. Immediately jumped in the car and went looking for the clan and foundja. Sorry I couldn't hang too long. I had to get back to the Impala BBQ before those slobs ate all the ribs. It was great seeing a few of you before I had to ride out.
My Impala friends were kind enough to let the V particpate in all the racing events (my Impala is in the shop in itty bitty pieces for a rebuild) and I had a blast. We did drag racing @ Milan, autocross at a nearby lot and road racing @ Waterford Hills. The road course was a great little technical track and once I got all the late apex's figured out the V was flyin' off the top of the hill. Ran some very competetive times against the more experienced and more powerful race prepped Impy's. I'll post up some links once the thousands of pics and hundreds of vids are posted.
Black Sunshine, I forgot about meeting you ... so-o sorry ... just too much going on all the time to recall everybody in one posting/sitting.
Missed seeing liqidvenom, cincyenginerd, Clever_guy, but did see ******* and Ryan's05V (in his G8 GXP). There's at least a half dozen guys or more in the area that I'd like to see make it next year.
Jason, as always thanks for everything. Let us know if you are out of pocket at all. I know from talking to everyone there that there is no way we should let that happen.
George thanks for all your efforts as well. The coupe looked great.
Also thanks for the compliments on the car and "little"/"medium" Ron comments.
It was great to see you guys. I don't know if my friend's Kurt or Bryan are on this forum regularly or if at all but I know they had a good time and wanted to pass along some thanks.
Let me know if we can set something up for end of September at Baker's or something like that.
Jason, as always thanks for everything. Let us know if you are out of pocket at all. I know from talking to everyone there that there is no way we should let that happen.
George thanks for all your efforts as well. The coupe looked great.
This was a great time!! My wife came with under a bit of duress... "I don't want to just sit around there all day" and in the end she was asking to stay longer and is already talking about next year!!! Many thanks to all who had a hand in putting this together.
cincyenginerd; Saw an Evolution Green V2 coupe with gunmetal rims/yellow calipers in the lot said:
Evo G coupe was mine, (George aka TORXILA), looks even better when cleaned up. The car is 1 of 1 color with that RB9 Satin Graphite wheels with yellow brembos. A lot of GM people helped make it happen. I'm getting lots of thumbs up.
Thanks
George
Nice pics, btw. Love that short little vid, too. Waterford Hills is a tight little track for our cars. I remember guys talking about going there 50 years ago. Been there a long time.
