    Entering "Home" address in Navi

So I looked at the FAQ diy on entering an address to set as your home destination. When I get to the screen where it lists the destinations where point 1 is home, hitting the big rotary knob on the right side doesnt allow me to enter into the Home point and put in my address. The side bars has a couple selections blacked out. Is there a reset or something that Im missing? I am not the original owner.

Does everything elese work ok? Meaning can you put in an address and it willl guide you there? Have you tried ejecting the nav DVD and reinstalling it?

This is a long shot but I don't suppose you are driving when you've tried to do this...

The rest of the navi works fine. I was parked when trying to enter in the address, same as when i enter a normal destination. I have no tried to eject the disc yet.

I can't change the setting for #1-Home either. It still has the GM executive's address in there

To enter home, what i did was park in my driveway and select the current location as my home. This worked better than trying to input a specific address, which I was not able to do.

How do you "select it as home". Ive been in front of my place, but am only smart enough to figure out how to add it as a trip point.

Don't enter your home address and label it as home. Don't you watch Entourage?? That's the best way to find your house after someone steals your car when you aren't home. Just enter the address and reuse it. It'll still get you there.

or use an intersection close enough to home to make it useful, but not close enough that you can drive around with the built in garage door opener...

If some car thief can decrypt how to recall the home address on this horrific nav interface, I'd be impressed... And if they could, they'd realize it's just as likely the "home" address is someone else's, due to the huge pain of setting it.
