The buttons are replaceable, Luke at Lindsay Cadillac sells them for $8(I think) each. Multiple people have replaced them, I have 5 sitting at home waiting to be installed. When I ordered mine, Luke said that he wasn't aware of anyone having to replace them multiple times, so the replacement ones appear to last longer. (Or people are more careful with the replacements. Not sure.)

You have to remove dash center bezel and then pull off the front panel of the radio unit to replace the buttons. Not the easiest swap, but not really difficult either. Just be careful not to lose any pieces while you have it apart.

BTW....if you still have a warranty....GM will replace the entire NAV if the buttons are peeling under warranty....

Some dealerships have started to replace the buttons without replacing the entire nav.... mine did and scratched up my lcd..haha. I had to bitch for weeks to get them to replace the screen. Now it's perfect.

Nice link, thanks Darkman. My local Caddy dealer assures me that I will in fact need to buy the whole NAV syste. Hopefully Lindsay comes through.

Unfortunately have now been advised the buttons, and the NAV units themselves are discontinued. Wonderful. They build a junk item and then discontinue replacements. Next step is repainting.

Re: Radio - Nav buttons have lost enamel. How to fix?

I just ordered a set of Nav buttons from Lindsay like a month or so ago. I'm still under warranty, but it was really less trouble for me to pay the money and swap the buttons myself, than to have to go up to the dealer, convince them to replace the unit, then wait for them to get the unit, and then go back to have them replace it. Swapping the buttons yourself is a 20 minute job tops. 10 minutes if you've had your dash apart before already..

Thanks for the responses. I had posted again but it didn't take. I contacted GmPartsDirect.com who are a supporting vendor on my Corvette forum and they were the latest to tell me not available. I also posted on the Lindsay thread but they haven't responded. Do you guys have a contact or direct email there i can send to?
