One trick to put the officer at ease is to roll down all windows and put both hands out the window with your ID in your hand as they approach.

No kidding.....this will let the cop see in the car as he/she approaches and will also show him/her what your hands are doing. However....you do run the risk of the cop saying...."....so ummmm.....you must get pulled over alot...."...hahahahah....

Perhaps that will help, but the officer's adrenaline level will already be elevated and the officer will still not know whether the vehicle has one occupant or four.

    tint on the windshield? really??

depends on the cop, and the area that you're in. I've been stopped twice for tint on another car and 1 let me go while the other didn't -- and both times, I put the windows all of the way down while coming to a stop. PA State Trooper was a wet behind the ears by the book DB. and, this was on the PA Tp... not speeding. tint ticket only. 35% sides, 20% rear

When I looked in my rear view mirror and seen your windshield I was pretty excited. Sweet tint job.
If I were to try it it would be 50% though.
    Here's mine

I'd have more sympathy for the police and their adrenaline levels if police vehicles weren't specifically exempted from the tint laws in most states.

That said, I don't know that I'd ever do the windshield, and certainly not to 35%. I had 18% on the sides/back of my last car for a while and backing up at night was brutal. I'd often just roll the window and stick my head out. Looked good, yeah, but if I was choosing (the 18 was on there when I got it) I'd go lighter.

Well my 02 DTS has 35% on all windows... Meters out at 26%. I did change to 50% on the windshield though. It was at 35 for a year before I got pulled over now I get pulled over in it all the time but I have a medical exemption but they still threaten to tow my car. My 01 Monte SS has 35% all around still and I get pulled over in it a lot less (it's black with red checkers on it like a pace car, caddy is like bronzemist)
