    Need a CEL Scanned...San Francisco

Got a CEL on. Only have my powertrain warranty left. If anyone can scan this for me and give me a code that would be great. Id rather get you a 6 pack of your fav brew then pay the dealer 150 to do the same. If its power train ill bring it to them for warranty, if its not ill be doing the work myself but saving a 150 bucks.

Located in Richmond/San Pablo area in the east bay CA. I can meet at your convenience, but this weekend would probably work the best. I have an appointment with the dealer this coming monday so id like to get it done before then. Thanks

Take it to a parts store and see if they will do it. Not sure whats out in Cali but Advace, AutoZone, O'reilly's, they all do it for free just about anywhere.

Probably because you can clear the CEL with the scanner. You can buy them for like $40 now, you know.

No doubt.....but you'd think that be even MORE of a reason for the AutoZones of the world to offer to read codes to "lure" people into the stores to buy other stuff they may not necessarily be in the market for....(i.e. a Calvin sticker pissing on a Honda emblem or trucker girl mudflaps w/"Back Off" across the bottom)

did some searching on here and found handful of you are using this.

Autel MaxiScan ms509. Looks like it has some pretty nifty features including live data and o2 sensor data. not bad for 100 bucks shipped to my door.

I use the Autel Maxiscan and its pretty nice. Has come in very handy. Used it just a week ago to figure out what has wrong with my dads truck (burned/shorted out wiring on the exhaust manifold) all the codes pointed to short circuits.

I almost bought the Autel MaxiScan 3xx for like 50 bucks. But I felt it was worth the extra bucks to get the 509 with the extra features that I may need down the road.
