    Door switch

I have an intermittent problem with the drivers door switch not making contact. Sometimes when I get in the DIC doesn't display my personalization message ("Buckle-up & hang on") and shows a "Personalization Off" message instead. When this happens the drivers door window, lock, mirror... controls don't work either. I can usually fix the problem by simply opening and slamming the drivers door and then all is well with the world.

I could probably live with (and have) this but the bigger problem is when I park and this happens then locking the car with the key FOB results in all the doors locking except the drivers door which I either have to lock by pushing down the button or using the key from the outside (or slamming the door really hard so that the contact is made.)

Has anyone else had this problem? Is it more likely the switch (and if so where is that thing), or contacts that need to be cleaned or the actual door module going bad?

    Re: Door switch

I searched and found this thread. I'm having the exact same issue. Any resolution?

    Thanks

    Re: Door switch

Turns out it's the "door module". I'm not entirely sure what that is, but I suspect I (or the OP) would have had better luck in the regular CTS section since the parts are presumably interchangeable. Good thing to remember the next time a problem comes up, might be answered in the non-V forum??
