Okay, Tony, I just spent maybe ten minutes with my 13mm open-end wrench and did nearly a 1/4 turn on each nut on the driver's side header. That reduced the sewing machine sound by about 98%. Can hardly hear it, now.
So, that brings me to my new most annoying mod, and that is the way Miss Maggie makes the rear tires wear so quickly. Don't you just hate that?
Didn't someone pull the Maggie and send it in because of the sewing machine sound? Would've been a few years ago.
BTW Just heard a friend of mine bought an 08 E63. Now I'm thinking how the hell am I gonna keep traction off the line
Hey, What's cooking everybody? I chiming in to say how cool it is not to be on anyones list so far. Must be doing something right.
Rob, you are not the first person to wonder what CS stands for, customers have called on the phone and said it took them awhile to figure it out. Not good for Biz. CS here on the forum stands for Creative Steel. We build engine mounts, transmission mounts, rear differential bushings, drive shaft couplers, shifter bushings, front license plate brackets, blah blah blah and the list is getting longer.
If any of you guys ever feel like hitting a few extra keys while referring to Creative Steel could ya spell it out every once in awhile, it would help the non-regulars. Oh, hey while you're hitting those extra keys, how about giving our phone number 503-316-1811? Larry the Cable Guy, "Now that there is some funny sh-t, I don't care where yer from, uh-hmm, that's funny right there"
Thanks again for not putting us on your lists, Have a super weekend, it's rainin' in Oregon,
I'm sorry to ask, but what exactly does a header leak sound like? I read on here that when I installed the kooks I would hear valve train noise more and it would sound like a sewing machine. So is an exhaust leak just like a really loud sewing machine? If I post up a video would someone be able to tell me?
Front sway bar will be history by tonight. After several loose nuts, one stripped nut (can't believe GM doesn't send them out with nuts) and two sets of cracked brackets the stocker is going back on. It's just a little knock going over bumps, but it makes the car feel old.
My Specter Werkes bushings creak like a fibersglass sailboat.
My front Hawk HP+ brake pads have been silent since I installed two-piece front rotors, but my rear Hawk HP+ brake pads (also on two-piece rotors) squeal like crazy - I can turn heads at 50 yards when going through a residential subdivision.
Both problems have resisted all of the usual remedies.
I'm pretty sure that when I open my cutouts I tend to annoy most people. Does that count?!
My truly most annoying mod was probably my stereo. I love good, rich sounding bass but the alternator in our V's just doesn't seem capable of delivering the current that my amplifier needs to satisfy my listening levels. I have built several boxes and tried several different combination of equipment to no avail. Everything is out of the car for now.
