I have had my maggie off 2X with the faulty sender but i can't get the socket over the sender since the valley cover is in the way (too tight to the sender for the socket to fit in between) - does anyone else have this issue? I don't really want to take the cover off if i can avoid it.

You have to Dremel or grind the "lip" off of one part that holds a mtg. screw that blocks access.

May I suggest keeping RPMs down until the oil temp is at least around the 140 or 150° range? Either that or literally all of these replacements are crap.

I think it is a little of both.

I may get one of the relocate kits they make for the C5.

The current location has a lot of vibration and heat.

At least I can do it by feel now. LOL

    Well that was a chore.

If you ever do this, be warned that they make a replacement sensor that is about an inch taller (brass body) that is a BITCH to install.

I can still do it by "feel", but what a chore as the tool doesn't sit right with the maggie.

Do you still get the "Oh s#*%!!!" feeling when the Megabucks slots bells and whistles goes off? It never failed to put my stomach in a knot.

I think mine was the big replacement. I had to actually end up using Chanellocks to get the old one out.....

Looks like mine went out today also. Kind of figured it was dead because had it been real, my pistons would have probably been flying into Lake Michigan.

Still got GMPP so I'll be taking it to a dealer that hopefully won't try to rip me off, scratch my car, or tell me that they can't work on it.

    Re: Oil pressure sender #4!

Well, just bought an '05 V yesterday, and on the drive home got the "check" message on the control panel and saw oil psi at "---". Killed it in utter fear, already contemplating payback to the seller then figured it was the sender. Checked oil level, then looked at oil temp. Both good so made the drive home with the radio off listening intently... Scared the heck out of me.

Are you guys who replace them often using Delco or Duralast, or whatever you can get? Autozone has duralast, Rockauto.com has Delco, or can try to get one from a dealer local. Just curious if it matters which ones you use, and which ones might be the longer/taller model that is difficult to fit.

    Thanks in advance.

Congratulations, James, (Squid4life), I knew that you were hooked when you posted on another forum that you had driven a '05 CTS-V. Maybe you & heavymetals should buy stock in one of the manufacturing companies that sells those sensors. Glad to see that you have a V though. Now you can give the turbo Buick a much deserved break. Good to see you on this forum, too. It's a good place to be. You going to post up on TB.com that you have a '05 V so that everybody knows that we have 2 V's in the forum?

Hey Gary! Threw me off seeing your name on here right after being over on TB.

Was a scary start but loving the car for sure! Will swap out the sensor and carry on. Will def post up on the other board, was waiting to take a few decent pics. These things are amazing!

Does anybody have a part number on the pressure sensor? Mines at a steady 125psi, must have just happened with in a the last day or 2.
