I waved goodbye to my freshly cleaned V yesterday as the buyer drove away. Why is it the car always looks best when someone else is driving it? Dang that car looked good. I am flying to Houston to get my new baby though, a black on black 06 M5 (under warranty of course *cough* SMG *cough*).
This board has been awesome, and I couldn't have done many of my mods without it. So thanks to everyone. Let me know if you are in the Dallas area and ever need a hand with something car related. I'm sure I will miss the rawness of the V, and have high hopes for the M5.
good luck.. i did a 2nd gear rollout with a e60m5 till at least 125 and won.. :hmm: the M5 had 3 guys in the car + was stock .. maybe it wasn't set to 500bhp mode or M-mode.. all i know is that from 2nd gear till ~80mph he had me by 1/2 a car and then the :v: just kept creepin til i was 1/2 a car ahead lol im not tryin to be negative the M5 is definitely a upgrade except for the idrive being so complicated
sexay imo

yeah you made not just a jump in power but to a whole different class of vehicle. You will be very happy, also when you launch it for the first time using launch control and realize your diff isnt on the floor behind you.....then you will be a happy guy. and those seats, those alone are worth trading up for.
I don't to turn this into an M5 discussion on the Cadillac Forums, but I will say that the V will be missed. So far, the lack of torque is killing me. I do miss the sound of headers, and changing the oil cheap. M5 takes 9qts of 10w-60 oil...$$$
nothing wrong with talking about different cars. i only said that because i get paid by the people who make that car so i dont want anything i say to be taken out of context.
it does take more oil but those are some of the things you have to put up with when being the owner of a v10 sedan.
I plan to lower it with Eibach or H&R springs and add a front lip spoiler. A rear diffuser would be nice, but haven't decided yet. That will be it for visual, unless you consider RPI air scoops behind the grille visual since they are red and you can see them from the front.
a bunch of BMW guys at a meet told me they force more air into the airbox.. they claimed like 10hp or sumthin.:hmm:.so flash and go... red on black looks mean.. the ones i saw in person were yellow
Bit off topic, but I have 3 E36 BMW's so I joined our local BMW club. Great bunch of guys, most close to my age. We went on a Father's day run. The group leader has a WRX STI and I had my V. The there was 26 BMW but I felt right at home. (Unlike the local Corvette club the president of which had no clue what the V was!)
Enjoy the car.
