Sweet... Gonna have to add that to the process then. Gotta con the old lady into letting me do up the Cadillac next year. Lol
Bump ... how you guys doing on those cores?
Hope to get mine soon.
I received mine early last week and got it installed over the weekend. What a night and day difference from the original shifter. With the combination of shifter geometry and UUC bushings, it's amazing how much more confident the shifts are. During the installation process, the only thing I would suggest to Brian is maybe the screw/nut sizes could be included in the installation documentation so that when you're out there and under the car you have the tools you need and there isn't any guesswork. I needed a #10 socket for the top nuts, a 7/16" opened end wrench and a #5 allen key for the bolt that holds the shifter in and possibly other tools. I also used a fairly large screwdriver as a lever to get the UUC bushings back in once I gave them a quick coat of grease. I hope to get my core in the mail in the next couple of days.
Nicccce! I am stoked to get mine, I swear I have to be the next person or dang close...Im going to call and order my bushings today...thanks for the heads up on the socket sizes.
5 mm Allen wrench
13 mm box end wrench
7/16" deepwell socket and ratchet
7/16" std socket (separate ratchet also)
10 mm ratcheting box end wrench
10 mm 1/4" drive deepwell socket
5/16" drill bit and drill
If I pull my shifter and send in, what's the turn time to get it back?
And- whats the turn to wait for a core and ship out at this time? (rough timeframe)
This is next on my mod list :)
2-3 days if you send yours to be modified. The wait is about 4-6 weeks with the core exchange method right now.
FYI... My core was shipped back via USPS on Friday.
As an FYI for you guys and Brian, I am being deployed in the Air Force the second week of September. I'm not asking to be bumped up on the list but if I don't get it before then, it will be sitting at my home for 5 months before I get back and I obviously won't be able to install / send in my core.
If there is anything you can work out with me Brian to see if I can get mine within a month that would be great. Name is Matt and I think I was #6 on the list last time I saw it...
bump please...need some cores back! just got my new bushing in the mail and cant wait to get this shifter, seems like ive been waiting forever :) I am sure its worth it. I know Brian is occupied on that sick build of his and also trying to make amends with your hater friend Melissa! that was a really good note she left..
First of all, very glad you're doing this for us all...
Hoping to get mine soon, classes start back up in less than 3 weeks and will have limited time to get to the install done after they start. Don't want to hold up getting the core back for the next guy in line.
Start sending the cores back folks!!
Hey there, I am wondering if this would work for my 2005 3.6 6 speed manual tranny. I need to get the nylon sleeve thing replaced anyways so I'm thinking why not upgrade the whole shebang while I'm in there. Do you know if anyone has done your mod in a 2005 3.6 6 speed? Thanks!
The base is slightly different. I'd have to have your shifter for a day or two.
