Here is how to order one of my custom modified stock shifters. The final cost is $110 + your stock shifter with a $75 core charge. I also offer the UUC bushings (that I purchase from Luke and keep in stock) for an additional $30. These make a huge difference and are highly recommended.
1. Paypal either $185 or $215 to ........................ Be sure to include the reason why you're sending me the money and your shipping address in the notes section of the transaction.
2. I'll ship you a modified shifter via USPS Priority Mail (2-3 day shipping). I include detailed directions, a drill bit to drill out the stock rivets, new stainless steel hardware to replace the rivets, a tube of white lithium grease and a tube of lok-tite.
3. Swap out your old shifter with the new one and return your stock one to me. Please try to include the small items attached to the rectangular end, these include two nylon bushings, two rubber seals and one metal sleeve.
4. Upon receipt of your stock shifter I will refund the core charge of $75 via the same Paypal transaction.
I just got this shifter done on my car and let me just say, HURST should hire PISNUOFF for their shifter development! Holy shit does this shifter feel amazing! I sat in a 2013 Shelby GT500 today and with all the bushing mods done, mine still felt crisper and smoother. Just wow, it doesn't even feel like my car anymore.
Got the shifter Saturday from Brian, and installed it this morning. Must say....this thing is amazing. I took a few measurements of the stock shifter going from 1st to 2nd, and it had a 5 1/4" throw. Measured side-side slop, and was about 3/4" each way while engaged in any gear.
After Brian's shifter, I am now at exactly 3" of throw from 1st to 2nd, and side-side slop, while still present, is reduced to 3/8"...
Brian can you provide a full assembly with your mods done? I bought a V with some aftermarket shifter in it that I really don't like, and no stock shifter to send to you. TIA
Yes, you won't get your core refund though. Is there any way you can get under the car and snap a picture of the base of yours and email it to me? We may be able to work something out.
I dont know what made me more excited, going through the gears or the fact that my radar detector works just as good as the new shifter. thank you Brian, youve brought new joy to an already enjoyful ride!
Bump this thread for anyone who hasnt upgraded their shifter..yet! Huge difference, very pleased with the outcome. And it can be done without a second pair of hands.
Vise grips with a couple wraps of electrical tape around the shifter held everything in place. Would have been much easier with help though haha...and if I had jacked both ends of the car off the ground.
Like he said, center punch it the rivets and drill straight through them.
When I was putting the new core in I tied the linkage up to the steering wheel to keep it in place while bolting everthing together. And then like I said I used vice grips to hold the head of the bolt, taped them to the shifter so I could go under the car and put the nuts on.
Centerpunch the rivets and make sure you hold the drill straight and the rivets should come right out. Getting to the bolt for the linkage is tight. Its a 5mm allen wrench. Spend the $30 for the bushings. My car has 30k on it and the stock bushings were worn already.
Got mine installed in 3 hours including a dinner break and help from my gf. I will ship my core out either tomorrow or Friday. The car actually feels faster since I'm spending less time shifting.
