    Fair enough

Being in medical school, I always find myself on the forums quite a bit more as well while studying for finals (even though I shouldn't be). But to be honest I've learned it's the perfect break from the mundane lectures and studying I do on a daily basis. Doesn't take long, learn something new, and talk with some cool guys that I have something in common with

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming: HID headlight ballast's.

    HELL YEA!!!

I've been runnin' with the same light out for a month dreading the cost of a replacement unit and removing the facia. Gonna go out to the garage right now and check this out!

Jeez, you'd think after diagnosin' cars for as long as I have that the friggin fuse woulda been the first thing I checked.

    Youz guys are way LOL

Dammit! It never occured to me that there were separate fuses for each light. Shows my inexperience with HID's.

Pulled the fuse. Sure nuff. Blown.
    Replaced fuse.
    Turned on ignition, then lights.
    It lit up!
    For about three seconds.
Heard a very soft whining sound from the engine bay and the fuse blew. Light back out.
Guess the ballast is shot on mine, too.
    Dagumit!!!
    Anyone got anymore spares?

Thanks for the air box tip, too, Troy!

Fuse box. Engine compartment. Passenger side. By the headlight.

Take off the lid. Turn over. Schematic on inside.

The fuse puller is the small whit tool sticking up on the right of the inside of the fuse box half way up.

There are three spare fuse tucked away on the right side, too. Look at the schematic to find them.

Wish ya better luck than me.

I have 2 or 3 more spare ballasts left after selling one to RonR who originally started this topic. Let me know if you need one or just want the complete guts. They are all working fine, they are from past wrecks, I never use the old light just purchase new ones.

Just let me know what ballast you need, part number and pin count. Should be a 4 pin on a 2005.

    Re: HID headlight ballast

When My ballast burnt out, I looked at the prices and just ended up wireing in a aftermarket kit, had to drill some holes for wires and mounted the ballasts outside of the headlight compared to underneight like the stock ones.
