Any feedback in regards to track performance and street performance (dry and wet) would be appreciated. I have just had a great time with the Falken RT-615's but commute daily over a mountain pass that rains like hell in the winter. I am hoping the Advan's will get me through the winter and get four or so track days out of them.
Also, the Falkens were 255/40/18's which is the size I am thinking of buying the Advans AD's. Any comments?

The AD08s have been getting a ton of great reviews. If I ever get my V roadworthy again, I'll be on PS2s. But I'd be tempted to replace them with the Yokohamas down the road. I've always been a big fan of Yokohamas...

But, wasn't it just in Car & Driver (aka Kiss BMW's behind) last month that they tested the Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Specs, and they came out really well against the Advans? They'll leave a few buck$ in your wallet, too.

We got to test the AD08's(on some Mazda RX8's) very responsive tire, handled great on wet and dry and a relativley quiet tire. I love Yokohama, they build a great tire & take good care of thier customers. The Star Spec's are getting great reviews as well, we have put a couple sets on some M3's and S4's.
I am not sure how ell the AD08's would do in snow, or the longevity of the tire as the UTQG is 180. |

There is no consistent standard. I do find Yokohamas wear fairly quickly. Probably nowhere near as fast as the F1 Supercars, though. The Star Spec is probably the best all around tire right now, but the AD08 is certainly among the elite in regards to dry performance. |

I ordered them yesterday and will have them on the track in a couple of weeks and after putting some commute miles on them, let you know how they perform. |

Dang, what good are they, then?!! Must be one of the last places that needs an industry standard (along with chassis dyno calibrations).
And dry performance is all I really care about. Thought I'd be in the market this, but managed to squeak by without having to make the plunge. Next spring/summer, I'll be on the prowl for a set of something. While a wear rate above 300 would be nice, it's not critical for me. Quote:

The verdict on the Neova A08's at this point with one track day and about 1500 miles of daily driver over the mountains is "bad ass". Very stable and predictable on the track (confidence inspiring). Of course my three month old RT-615's were pretty beat the last time I tracked them (obviously didn't last long), but these seem to have a bit more feel to them. Can't say the same for UUC's slotted rotors. 2 track days and about 3 thousand miles and completed warped/toast. They apparently couldn't handle the HPS +'s and my braking. The stock rotors lasted 3 times as long. Back to stock rotors.
I'll update after Laguna next month and let you know how many miles/track days I get out of them.

No tire squeal and grip for days. Highly recommend regardless of tire wear (still to be determined). |

Getting tires every six months (or less!) sounds expensive. But, then, I suppose that's the cost of track days and having a heap of fun. |

The good news is that I am getting to know brake, tires and suspension...and I really love this car...(for a 4000 lb pig).
