I know we just had the Major Guard talk. However, my dealer told me I can't finace Major Guard. I don't have the $2100/$200deduct. or $2680/$0deduct. up front right now. I only got about 1K I can free up. Funny thing is he didn't mention Major Guard at all. He was pushin Global Protection Plan......I couldn't find a website for them but they are out of Pompano Beach, Florida. They want $3241 for $0 deductable. But, I can finance that one. Anyone ever dealt with them or heard good news??

Yes. The dealer gave me a pamphet. They are at 22 NE22 Ave. Pompano Beach, Fl. 33062. Phone is 954-784-9400 or 800-432-4566.
I have to call the guy I spoke to at the dealership to see if he can backdate me a policy.

you can buy a lot of parts for 3241 + finance charges (say $800) = $4000 over the next xx years - remember how this works, you give these dudes the money now up front - then over the next couple of years you beg them to give it back to you - would you take that deal with your best bud ?

The GM deal is one thing, these others are 90% scam, $0 deductible is plain stupid ( you can afford thousands in insurance but you can't afford most fixes ?)

I'm betting you never break even - and so are the pros selling this stuff.

Insure only what you cannot handle any other way

Global Protection Plan Inc. was acquired by Ed Morse in 2005. Ed Morse is a family owned business apparently owning and operating several (as many as 14) car dealerships covering multiple brand names in Florida. As a privately held company, their financial well being is almost impossible for a consumer to determine. On the other hand, those dealerships that are still surviving within the current economic climate may be okay.

Ed Morse Bayview Cadillac......now I'm starting to see the light. Thanks to the Darkman. So, most likely, when I ask him to backdate it he's gonna say I can't with Major Guard but with Global Protection its no problem. DAMN!

Well if he won't it may be because he does not want to, not because he can't.

Re: Global Protction Plan Extended Warrranty

yeah what darkman just said.

Now if they will not do it then you should get the full time on your warranty and no "back date" on a new aftermarket warranty such as Global Protection.

BTW - Black Cadillac (877) 472-9550 sells an aftermarket warranty that I believe is backed by GE so less worries there about them going under if you buy that policy.

Check the dealers selling GMPP online. Most will let you do Service Payment Plan which lets you do ~20% down and payments for like 18 months interest free.

No online guys but http://www.claudenolan.com/ said they will do a check with GM and see if they can do it. I'm in the process now. 700 down 128 a month for 12 months. 2247 total.......or one rear end grenade.
