The line itself is pretty tough. It seems to me to be holding up to the engine heat very well, and it actually is firm enough that you would have to try pretty hard to get a kink in it. I have it running through a series of zip tie loops that keep it in place but don't squeeze it too much.
So, IMO, I don't think you need to worry about shortening the line at all, just don't lengthen it. | Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Shorter the better, and certainly no longer than that which is provided.
My car is having some mods done to it right now, so when I get it back a couple of days, I'll be looking at the passenger side, under the dash really closely. If mounted there, it'd be isolated from temperature extremes, dust, and whatnot. Seems to me that I might be able to keep the line on the order of about three feet or close to it. Just gotta be patient so I don't end up with some ghetto, hillbilly white trash, impatient old-fart install.

BTW why is the hose on your Magnavolt silver? Is it a rebuilt unit?

Don't know why mine is silver. Suppose to be "new." Tony, don't get me all worried about my eBay transaction! |

What about the RPM signal wire? Don't forget that one It will increase pump voltage when you hit 3000RPM if maggie isn't pumping yet. |

Other than the mounting location and adding umpteen extra ground wires, I'm following the steps very closely. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
