877-nav-disc seems to be giving me the wrong part #

I'm havign the same issue. The 05' disc runs fine but the upgrade sic just spins and won't read. Going to give them a call later today. Let you know if I hear anything.

I think you may have to upgrade the nav firmware to get new discs to work. But I could be wrong.

How did you know what disc to buy that was compatible with the firmware of the unit? How do you identify the firmware version? I would love an 09 disc but I'm sure I'm running the original firmwar in my 05. What were the details of the disc so I know the latest version?

Just matched the part number from the GM site, it's the actual disk, not a copy.

so you have disc 09320NA which is an 09 disc that worked in your 05V with no firmware update?

Those discs are DVD based. Can they be copied with DVD burner or dual layer DVD burner? Not an ethical question, I understand. The GM site is out and one on ebay are all sorts of part numbers..

Unless the previous owner got the update, I don't know, but it works.

As far as I know you can copy them.

I have a 2005 SRX with the factory nav unit. The map data disc just spins and spins constantly wven with the car off. I thought it was the lens but the unit reads DVDs just fine and everything else on the unit is reponding. THe map disc does work in other vehicles, although it is a version 4 disc, a 2006 SRX reads it. I would like to know if firmware updates would cure this or not. To me the harware is fine if it reads DVDs and just the programming needs a fix with firmware. Does anyone have these firmware upgrades? I just bought the car so I have no idea what has been done previously, but I do know this disc came with the car and is not working. I have not been able to try any other disc in the unit yet, but if an older disc doesn't work I can't see a new one working. GM nav disc center quotes a 2009 disc replacement. Will it accept this new disc?

The nav discs are not compatible across models except the CTS and the V use the same disc.
