The best part is while talking to the first two levels of support on the phone they said some streets might not be in the map database. Not a suprising answer I guess from people who read off of scripts.

Anyway the real technical support person from GM Nav Disc did call me back and said they are still working on a fix. She did not comment on if it was a firmware or map database problem.

Re: Updated navigation Disc

It probably is a map data bug, some pointer although anything goes and it just may result in a firmware fix ver. II.

Would be interesting to go to the Infinty forum and ask there or even the CTS forum if they have the same problem.

Infinty required firmware updates also.

Re: Updated navigation Disc

NO.

There is "feedback" that is generated by the radio/nav.

This electronic "handshake" is required and unique to the V.

All someone needs to do is:

Develope a plug-in that mimics the radio/nav and generates a video signal (for the error codes) that can be read and the switches (for feedback to the CPU).

Then the OEM radio/nav POS could be upgraded (swapped out) with something that is better (not hard to find).

Development time costs would probably exceed the value though.
