my new diff might be making some noise now. but i'm not sure its worth complaining about.

i took my car in the first time for a different issue and they replaced the diff without my even complaining about it

If you are wondering if your diff whines...lower the back seat and drive around.
This was the EXACT situation that made me take mine in recently. They ended up replacing the diff.

Re: To replace the whining differential again?

my is gone forever....just installed flowmaster race series two chamber mufflers...loud as f - - - cannot hear a damn thing but the exhaust of course the drone is crazy bad but I wouldn't have it any other way
had my diff replaced at 18K got 20K on it now with amsoil in it and it just started to whine before I through the mufflers on...safe to say 75% of V's out there do the same....

Re: To replace the whining differential again?

I put a single layer of dynamat under the rear seat (am planning on doing the trunk soon) and it helped a TON.

Re: To replace the whining differential again?

FYI for the warranty, some nice folks here turned me onto Black Cadillac Pontiac for the GM extended warranty, they saved me about $600 over my local dealer and the service guys here couldn't care less where the warranty was purchased.

I ended up having my diff replaced after I bought the car with 24.5k miles, I've got less than 1k on the new diff but it's holding up well so far and the new diff actually eliminated a lot of rear end noises for me.

Just some food for thought.
