My g/f came over yesterday; she doesn't drive, so I had to drive her home. I'm not really complaining. The law says the plate has to be mounted on the front of the vehicle. IMO my dashboard is the front half of the car. The law does not say it has to be the front tip of the car. It's really officer's discretion. Same with our tint laws. If the police officer says he can't see inside, then he can ticket you. It doesn't matter what % the tint is.

He was kind of upset that he couldn't tag me for that to.
As you know (if you watch cops), these stops give the police "probable cause" and a reason to toss your car.
They also carry guns, so I am real nice.

Honestly I don't think they were looking for anything else. They didn't ask me if I'd been drinking, they didn't ask me why I was there or where I was going, etc. |

Thats like $2.25 to not dick up you bumper cover, money well spent IMO. I didnt put mine on the LS in Hawaii and never planned on it either. I was pulled over twice and neither time did the cop say a word about it.
I agree that ulterior motives other than the plate were behind the stop at 3am. You need to stop dating 14 year olds Jon and get a girl with a drivers license.
As far as cops, I have 2 brother in laws and one of my closest cousins that are cops. 2 are cool as hell, the other? Lets just say I have personel knowledge of what kind of douchenozzles crave to become cops |

With that being said, I've been pulled over 3 times in 3 days. Got one ticket out of it too. Did I deserve it, you bet your ass I did. Do I still respect police officers and the the job they do, damn straight. Please dont make another homo statement like the one above. | I have good enough reason to not like or respect cops. And it is really homo to give someone a front plate ticket... There is so much other crap going on out there that the cop should get a life and go after something important. Not a guy just sitting there who doesnt want to put holes through the bumper of his vehicle... |

For example, does every one here come to a full complete stop at a stop sign, wait 3 seconds, then proceed cautiously through the intersection? What about doing the same thing before turning right on red? 1 mississippi, 2 mississippi,....
Sorry for the rant, but IMHO that ticket was BS. | Agree, I feel simarily.
In my mind, the issue here is crystal clear--this has everything to do with revenue and little, if anything, to do with safety, which is 100% what the (non-tax) laws SHOULD be about.
Taxes/governmental money streams need to seriously be FIXED. If the government needs to raise more money, taxes should be increased, nothing more. They shouldn't run around creating stupid laws to increase revenue, that's what taxes are for. The laws of the road, and the penalties associated with such, should be about safety, not revenue, period.
These bullsh*t speed laws, front license plate laws, (my personal favorite) intersection/red light cameras, etc. are overwhelmingly a hoax and are designed to get the governmental entity revenue up to where they need it to be.
The solution should be to explain to the public that, at the end of the day, this will be cash-flow neutral. Yes, the government will increase taxes, but will do away with highly dubious fines/driving laws (etc.) that are there solely to get revenue up. Yeah, that might work well.
Unfortunately, the PUBLIC is probably do f-ing stupid to allow this to happen & wouldn't understand it. |

If you just obeyed those stupid laws then you would neither have to pay the fine nor pay high taxes. And 90% of those stupid laws actually have a story behind which they were made, as stupid as they may be. As for richdash, maybe you should just wear a sign that says I'm an assclown that hates cops so that in the event of an emergency they'll know not to save your dumb ass.

It reflects your age, with more years you may become less naive. I don’t rely on police for protection or help. Where I live they are a bigger problem and safety hazard then help. All too often the police and sheriff departments are the essence of corruption and greed. They are legal gangs more often then not. Quote:
