I've got a contact at Crawford Composites that can probably get any design you want built to order in carbon fiber. Probably cost a sh!tload but at least thats an option

I went to the ATM after reading about the Carbon Fiber option...but the bank wouldn't let me withdraw 'a shitload'. What gives?!

Re: whos interested in buying a custom splitter

Well, I'll rephrase the sh!tload part...I had my emails mixed up

APR has what they call a Front Air Dam (which is what the renderings in this thread most resemble on their site)
    FA-208026.jpg
are listed for the C6 anywhere from $900-$1100. I've got to believe something fully custom made would be higher especially if Crawford does it.

The Front Splitter (basically flat with full functional undertray)

seem to start at $375 and up and the honeycomb core ones start at $875. Same thing, higher for custom Crawford piece

Lord knows when I'll ever actually do anything with it, but a year or so ago I picked up a used NASCAR COT (Car of Tomorrow) splitter on Ebay. I think I paid $75 shipped? There's a 2-piece one on ebay right now for $65. If someone is looking to create something that's a pretty inexpensive base to start with.

Looking to bring this back up again. EdmundGTP, any chance you could distribute the model file to us and see if we can shop it around locally?

Sure. Just let me know what format is needed for the file. I haven't done anything with it, other than making that initial model. It's really just a rough shape model. Doesn't have any specific dimensions for mounting points or anything. If I was any good at aluminum welding, I'd have broken the model up into flat sections that could be cut out of 1/8 inch aluminum sheet and welded together to create the end form.

I'm not sure what format I need yet. There are a couple of good plastic fabricators near me that I'll have to ask, like Connecticut Plastics. Any chance I could get you to enhance the model to include provisions to attach modular undertrays for the front, center, and rear of the car? Bonus for extended side skirts or replacement rocker panels.

Also, have you ever seen someone build a three-piece bumper before (image below)? I know that it's scary, but if we cut the bottom lip off our existing bumper, it might open the door to a much more substantial upgrade. Possibly something that might be able to make use of the bigger, CTS-V2 lower grille.

The last thing I want to look into is replacing the foglamps with a engine air intake tube that'll direct airflow from the fascia up and inwards. Similar to what D3 did for their CTS-V1, but better. It might also provide us with an opportunity to drop some vertically-mounted LEDs in the space, like what D3 did for the CTS-V2.
